This trophy has been played for 11 months each year since 1982. It consists of 12 people in each team. Holder of the Challenge Trophy is to give the challenging team 2 dates in a calendar month for the challenge to be played. If refused then they may have to  forfeit their challenge and the next challenger is approached. After successfully defending challenges for one complete round ( 15 teams ) then their Clubs name is engraved on the trophy.Unfortunately at this point in time the history of this Shield is not known. If there is anyone out there from back in the starting of this has any information then it would be greatly appreciated if they would contact Northern Area.
